原页面:Jan Mayen
扬马延 is a releasable nation in Norway, encompassing one state (Jan Mayen) on the Artic coast, which is mountainous and a wasteland. In the 1936 start date, its territory is controlled by
挪威. Norway may only release this country manually. If released, Jan Mayen would be an isolated island surrounded by the Artic Ocean. Jan Mayen is notable for the fact that it possesses the lowest core population of any nation in 钢铁雄心 4, whether releasable, pre-existing or otherwise, with a combined core population of no more than 10 inhabitants, which is around 8500 times less than the population of
唐努乌梁海 (85.000 inhabitants), the nation with the lowest core population of all pre-existing nations.
During World War II, continental Norway was invaded and occupied by Germany in spring 1940. The four-man team on Jan Mayen stayed at their posts and in an act of defiance began sending their weather reports to the United Kingdom instead of Norway. The British codenamed Jan Mayen 'Island X' and attempted to reinforce it with troops to counteract any German attack.
The Germans attempted to land a weather team on the island on 16 November 1940; the German naval trawler carrying the team crashed on the rocks just off Jan Mayen after a patrolling British destroyer had picked them up on radar. The detection was not by chance, as the German plan had been compromised from the beginning with British wireless interceptors of the Radio Security Service following the communications of the Abwehr (the German Intelligence service) concerning the operation, and the destroyer had been waiting. Most of the crew struggled ashore and were taken prisoner by a landing party from the destroyer.
The Allies returned to the island on 10 March 1941, when the Norwegian ship Veslekari, escorted by the patrol boat Honningsvaag, dropped 12 Norwegian weathermen on the island. The team's radio transmissions soon betrayed its presence to the Axis, and German planes from Norway began to bomb and strafe Jan Mayen whenever weather permitted, but did little damage. Soon supplies and reinforcements arrived, and even some anti-aircraft guns, giving the island a garrison of a few dozen weathermen and soldiers. By 1941, Germany had given up hope of evicting the Allies from the island and the constant air raids stopped.
扬马延 缺少专属国策树,因此改用通用国策树。
通用国策树有5个主要分支:
扬马延 starts the game with 4 Research slots. As a releasable nation, when released it will inherit all technologies that the releasing nation had already researched.
扬马延 controls 1 state.

When released as a puppet, Jan Mayen will adopt whatever ideology its releasing overlord has. If released as an independent nation, Jan Mayen will be a
中立主义 nation with no elections.
Jan Mayen has the following political parties:
| 意识形态 | 肖像 | 名称 | 党派 | 特质 | 效果 | 可用 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Despotism |
|
Grand Admiral Johan Mayen | 中立主义 | Polarizing Leader | Starting Leader |
Jan Mayen is a mostly isolated island, with all diplomacy values revolving around "Different Ideology", "Same Ideology" and "Same Ruling Party". Due to Jan Mayen's severe lack of everything, this will be a monumental task that will test the skill of any Hearts of Iron 4 player.

As a releasable nation, Jan Mayen has no starting military and will have to build one from the ground up. It's probably going to have the smallest military of all countries — even on Scraping The Barrel with Militarism, Military Youth and either Human Wave Offensive or Non-Discriminatory Conscription, a Democratic or Fascist Jan Mayen core population won't be able to fully fill one division template typically used by other countries. Like other small countries a Non-Aligned or Communist Jan Mayen can rely on Weekly Manpower from the Generic National Focus Indoctrination, the Spirit of the Army 意识形态忠诚, or the unique trait Polarizing Leader of Grand Admiral Johan Mayen.
Jan Mayen may be released by 挪威 as 傀儡国 - and they can build up themselves with 通用国策树. Essentially, it would build factories in place, where they shouldn't logically even fit.
But, releasing Jan Mayen is not advisable - as holding it is required for some 可成立国家/欧洲 - like 北欧联盟.
Another comparable scenario is
马里亚纳联邦 released by 日本 while keeping core states. Such action would result in rump state, composed entirely of Marcus Island, with total population of 42. Even this rump state would be somewhat useful as 傀儡国 to 日本 - as such puppet could still complete 通用国策树 to get some industry - what it could use to produce things for puppet master. Unlike Jan Mayen, "Japanese Mariana Federation" rump state doesn't occupy cores of any "real" country, and is therefore more practical (and more commonly actually existing) as 傀儡国.
Since in modern versions Jan Mayen seems to be gone, for some reason -
马里亚纳联邦 released by 日本 while keeping core states is it's closest modern equivalent.
To say that playing as
扬马延 is very hard would be an understatement. Jan Mayen holds the record for having the lowest core population of any nation in Hearts of Iron 4 of any type, whether pre-existing or releasable, which they cant even reach
格陵兰. And being the sole nation with the lowest core behind
拉帕努伊王国和
阿拉伯撒哈拉民主共和国. Combined with its complete lack of industry and no good routes of expansion, this makes for a challenge unlike any other. Jan Mayen is theoretically capable of invading and controlling
冰岛 and the rest of Scandinavia if they can conquer the Northern part of the Norwegian coast, but this is extremely difficult and requires some very specific tactics and player intervention in order to even be feasible. Still, if one can somehow pull this off, they will be in an overwhelmingly better position and, considering the nature of this achievement, they might as well go ahead and proceed onwards to a full world conquest.
Provided here below is a link to a strategy video on YouTube by the HOI4 player sejozwak who gives a good overview on how to pull off this stupidly and ridiculously implausible scenario, by playing as Poland. If one likes to challenge themselves, and if "challenge" in this case means they want a challenge so nauseatingly difficult it makes nations like
唐努乌梁海和
蒙疆 look easier to play than even the mightiest of Major nations, one cannot recommend this nation enough.
But then again, why would you do this to yourself?
Aside from the obvious personal skill challenge (and potential status symbol a success would be), successfully taking a nation like Jan Mayen and elevating it to a global superpower and hegemon in the span of less than a decade would produce an alternate history scenario so implausible, so fantastical and so unbelievably unforseen, that to even the keenest and brightest of future historians in this timeline, it would appear as utterly impossible. And yet you successfully made it reality in spite of all odds and everything. You have surpassed the likes of Alexander the Great, the Ancient Romans and Genghis Khan combined by at least an order of magnitude, in this game at least. A successful Jan Mayen playthrough represents the apex of what 钢铁雄心 4 and other Paradox Interactive games thrive on; the ability to make history itself your sandbox and playground and craft whatever unique, unusual and bizarre timelines you desire.
I would suggest researching everything as
波兰 or
挪威 beforehand, so that you inherit all technologies that have. I would also suggest releasing the nation as a puppet so that you can build infrastructure and factories in the nation, even before you liberate them.
After that, I have no idea. But if you're starting out as the Jan Mayen, I would greatly suggest switching countries or just plain surrendering that game.
Jan Mayen in Hearts of Iron 4 is mostly a nation that is played for the meme value. There are other nations that start nearby that have significantly higher conquest potential, or could otherwise make better use of the core by forming the Nordic League.
