The
马斯喀特和阿曼苏丹国 is a
英国 protectorate country in the Middle East with a population of 490 K (core) and an additional 130 K (non-core). Located on the Arabian Peninsula, it is bordered by
沙特阿拉伯 to the northwest and the
英国 to the west and north. Its terrain is mostly mountains and deserts.
From the late 17th century, the Omani Sultanate was a powerful empire, vying with Portugal and Britain for influence in the Persian Gulf and Indian Ocean. At its peak in the 19th century, Omani influence or control extended across the Strait of Hormuz to modern-day Iran and Pakistan, and as far south as Zanzibar (today part of Tanzania, also former capital). As its power declined in the 20th century, the sultanate came under the influence of the United Kingdom.
When Sultan Sa'id bin Sultan Al-Busaid died in 1856, his sons quarreled over the succession. As a result of this struggle, the empire—through the mediation of the British Government under the Canning Award—was divided in 1861 into two separate principalities: Zanzibar (with its African Great Lakes dependencies), and Muscat and Oman.
The Hajar Mountains, of which the Jebel Akhdar is a part, separate the country into two distinct regions: the interior, known as Oman, and the coastal area dominated by the capital, Muscat. In 1913, control of the country split. The interior was ruled by Ibadite imams and the coastal areas by the Sultan. Under the terms of the British-brokered Treaty of Seeb of 1920, the Sultan recognised the autonomy of the interior. The Sultan of Muscat would be responsible for the external affairs of Oman.
Muscat and Oman was the object of Franco-British rivalry throughout the 18th century. During the 19th century, Muscat and Oman and the United Kingdom concluded several treaties of friendship and commerce. In 1908 the British entered into an agreement of friendship. Their traditional association was confirmed in 1951 through a new treaty of friendship, commerce, and navigation by which the United Kingdom recognized the Sultanate of Muscat and Oman as a fully independent state.
The Sultan of Oman declared war on Germany on September 10, 1939.

阿曼 没有空军。
Through focuses it is not hard to grow your industry to a mediocre levels, which can be supplemented by going to limited exports and war economy. Limited Conscription should grant you about 5 12 width divisions. Every few months, you will gain enough manpower to train another division. Like with most small countries, the key ingredient is patience. If possible, put spies in Saudi Arabia and decrypt. By 1939, they usually have about 8 divisions, but they can easily pump out more as needed. You on the other hand, have a small population, so you need to be very careful. In the event Iran gets into a war, you could declare on them, getting a little bit of Iran at the very least. If the UK decolonizes and the Middle Eastern dominions leave the alliance, you will be able to defeat them easily. Yemen should not be hard as long as you decrypt and have air superiority. Depending on how the world situation pans out, you have the option of joining the Allies, Axis, or Comintern. Being non-aligned makes it very easy to go an alternate path. The generic tree should be able to get you far if you play your few cards right. Just like Ethiopia, the challenge is not insurmountable.
Note: If you have the No Step Back DLC and are communist, you can enable Ideological loyalty for your spirit of the Army and get a free weekly +500 manpower boost.
In the usual case scenario, Oman starts as an colony of the British Empire. In a regular run, chances to become independent are tiring. Having to go through Colony to Dominion and then Freedom, can be irritating. And to achieve the quicker independence, is to select either fascist or communist ideologies. For manpower issue, communism can be the alternative. Boost it by selecting an ideological advisor until it reaches a considerate amount of support.
Opening the political discourse then using the available options, rushing on the ideological branch, along with the ideological advisor, must boost it within a year or so. If the British decolonize, then go with the peaceful transition of power, by going with a held referendum. Otherwise, go with the civil war option, as long as the political support has a decent amount. However, the state of Musandam can be a 50/50 chance. If it falls to your favor, in the civil war, then the road to victory becomes easier. If not, then this delays the civil war a bit longer thus forcing you to research submarines and transport ships in order to naval invade it. Fortunately, you can reload it so this can be fixed. But in Ironman mode, it can be irritating.
Should Oman have any remaining political power, it can be optional to pick the compassionate gentleman advisor in order to core the colony state of 'Imamate of Oman'. Considering that the province does drain the manpower for garrisons. Depending if the British decolonize or not, Oman's priority is to start off independent and sooner or later work on its expansion to unite all of Arab states, from the independent nations to the land owned by the British, French, Italians and Spanish.
Starting in 1936 you have to improve your Manpower and your industries via focus tree. You Need six 8 width divisions in order to win against Saudi Arabia. The default template it's fine, you Just Need to add some support Company as artillery, engineers, recon and field hospital. Declare war as soon as possible and form a defensive line in front of Muscat, you're going to stand there until the "all adults serve" conscription law give you enough Manpower, then you're going to encircle the invaders in south Iman. Next step Is to encircle them in the rub al Kali desert and take the supply hub in Dammam. Be aware of the fact that you can always retire everything to the Muscat defensive line and re-do It all again and again until the enemy runs out of Manpower. You can succeed only micro-managing It all. if u build up forts it's gonna be easier. The key of success Is to save your Manpower killing their troops, Land doesn't matter in this war, except for Muscat. so you're going to defend and encircle them, until they Just can't fight anymore.
The only way to succeed efficiently it's to let them invade you without let them take your supply hubs. When they're overextended Just rush to Sana'a, they're going to capitulate as soon as you take the Capital. In order to do It, you Need the same six 8 width divisions of before. As you have taken both Saudi Arabia and Yemen at this point, Oman can finally take the Arabia formable, increasing the manpower, cores and factories.
Build up 2 divisions more and prepare to invade. Concentrate your troops in the "Al-qassim" area and rush to Najaf and Basra. When you secure these supply hubs Just go North prioritizing supply hubs, until they capitulate. If you do it this way, they're gonna invade the Jawf area, Just to find themself trapped in the desert. With half an army there, you're going succeed in quickly marching on their cities.
GB is always going to try to take Iraq at some point, so you have to anticipate them. Justify war for Socotra, so they won't cover up the rest. You've to take all the Arabian territories fast, except for Socotra. The same 8 divisions of before are going to fit again. At this point start to produce submarines to guard your coast raiding convoy and add an anti-air support to your divisions.
If Axis is doing well, you can build up some divisions and try to take territories around. It is suggested to take Sri Lanka first because it's gonna give you 200k Manpower or so.
If Axis has been lame, you should wait until they're almost done, Just to declare war on them and try to take the Levant area. Your main objective Is to build up a fortified defensive line on Suez, just to economize troops defending against allies when they'll take back Egypt.
